Fundamental Skills Camp

The Fundamental Skills Camps are going to held on Coe's campus.

Fundamental Skills Camp is designed to introduce, improve, and master the vital skills of the game of baseball. Each day, campers will work on all aspects of game: hitting, base running, defense, throwing, and pitching (optional). Participants will be instructed and developed as a well-rounded baseball player. All drills are introduced and taught based upon ability and age level. Each camper will receive a t-shirt.


Position Camps
The Position Camps are going to be at Daniels Park Field.

Infield/Outfield Position Camp is focused on the fundamental development and mastery of their respective position as well as hitting. Campers will be able to choose which position they want to work at, while receiving hitting instruction on a daily basis. Each day, the hitting portion will cover swing mechanics, hitting drills, bunting, and other offensive strategies. Players will be divided into groups with those of similar age during the hitting drill portion of the day. Each camper will receive a t-shirt.

Infielders will receive instruction on proper set-up and play-making skills for both corner and middle infield positions. Participants will field a variety of ground balls, turn double plays, and be run through a variety of innovative and advanced drills.

Outfielders will receive instruction on proper set-up and play-making skills for all three outfield positions. Participants will receive a variety of fly balls and ground balls, while being run through a variety of innovative and advanced drills.

Pitcher/Catcher Position Camp is focused on the fundamental development and mastery of their respective position as well as hitting. Campers will be able to choose which position they want to work at, while receiving hitting instruction on a daily basis. Each day, the hitting portion will cover swing mechanics, hitting drills, bunting, and other offensive strategies. Players will be divided into groups with those of similar age during the hitting drill portion of the day. Each camper will receive a t-shirt.

Pitchers will receive instruction on pitching mechanics, pitch development, daily training regimens, and bullpen routines. To enhance development and consistency, each camper will develop an understanding of his delivery, pitches, and areas needing improvement.

Catchers will receive instruction on all parts of their game behind the plate; including receiving, blocking, throwing, footwork, and playmaking skills. Participants will go through a variety of drills along with being put in game situations that make the catching position unique. Players will be divided into groups with those of similar age during the ‘live’ catching portion of the day. Note: Participants are required to bring their own athletic supporter, protective cup, and catching gear.
